Ziabird Hosts Fosilart Jewelry Trunk Show

Fosilart designer Edward Lawrence and his wife Diana will present a trunk show of their exquisite pieces from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 7 and 8, at Ziabird, in Wilmington, both in the store and online via

Edward has been a craftsman all his life, first as a moccasin maker in 1971, working with leather accessories. In a quest for interesting buttons, he was introduced to fossil artifacts. Many years later, his one-of-a-kind jewelry collection thrives using the same material.

Their jewelry collection is mostly made of fossil and artifacts from St. Lawrence Island, Alaska, where people have lived for 25,000-plus years. Th e designed items include centuries-old harpoon tips, sewing needles and ice testers. He also works with amber from Mexico, jasper, turquoise and silver. Diana designs and strings together these one-of-a-kind necklaces and bracelets.

They will also be at Ziabird, which is well known for its highly curated jewelry, for a virtual meet and greet from noon to 1 p.m. on May 8.

Location: 1900 Eastwood Rd., Wilmington. Hours: Mon.-Sat., 11a.m. to 5p.m., closed Sunday. For more information about this event or Ziabird products, call 910-208-9650, email [email protected] or visit See ad, page 13.
